$100 Room Challenge: A Warm & Welcoming Entryway Reveal

It's final reveal day and I'm excited to share my new updated entryway with you!

I introduced you to the concept of the $100 room challenge a couple weeks ago. You can read all about my project room here, (LINK) and see all the bland before pictures. This week in bringing it all together, I had to get creative!  I was out of money but still needed to tackle artwork and other decor elements.

A search around my home and some switching up of furniture completed this space right on time!

You may remember this space has 3 doorways and the entrance, so it opens up right to the rest of the home with only corner nooks for tables and lighting.

To the right of the front door, I have my thrifted chair which I reupholstered (LINK) and some hooks which were already there.  This is the perfect spot to put on shoes or hang a purse or coat.  Above the chair, I hung 2 vintage pieces of art which I pulled one from the kitchen and one from my family room.

To the left of the front door, I placed my fiddle leaf fig tree which fills up the corner nicely.  Above it, I hung three vintage plates which are part of vintage dish sets I own. To the right of those, a couple more hooks for hanging coats/ purses.

Following around the left to the next corner, I moved a round vintage table from my front room to fill the corner and put four pieces of chinoiserie from my growing collection on display.

A vintage brass mirror I snagged from my dining room hangs above the table and gives you a place to quickly check hair or makeup as you're heading out the door.

In the last corner, I kept the same green table.  You can see how I updated this one many years ago, by clicking on this post here (LINK).   On top, is a thrifted lamp I had stored in the basement along with several decor pieces and a letter holder for outgoing mail. Above it, I displayed pieces of art which I grabbed from a gallery wall in another room.

The stenciled wall treatment (LINK) and the new rug (LINK), both add the style touches I wanted to create a unique and welcoming space.  I now feel like my entryway is it's own room and not just an extension of the other spaces.

This was such a fun makeover!  I loved the challenge of creating a space on a budget.  It really forced me to consider carefully the choices I made and repurpose a whole lot of what I already had!

  2. […] This rug was an absolute steal.  I was in need of something durable for our entryway since this is an area which gets a lot of foot traffic.  A wool rug will hold up well.  You can. see the full entryway makeover and how I completed it for under $100 in this post (LINK). […]

  4. Brooke says:

This is so stunning, it came together so pretty!

  5. Great job! You got really big style from a small budget. Love all of the small details- the stencil, the chair makeover, all of the mismatched hooks, and shopping your home for art and decor. It is a great example of using what you have in a new way

  6. So many things to love in this space. The stencil is so cute on the walls, and I LOVE the chair you redid. I think the big take-away is shopping your house! So much can change just by grabbing something from one room and placing it in another, or rearranging furniture. Enjoy your entry and thanks for joining the challenge this month!

  7. Beautiful! I love everything you did to this space, especially the plates on the wall and that rug was well worth going a little over budget!
